Shou Ta Yi Bing "A Tale of Love and Loyalty"

 Chapter 7:

Humiliation

He wasn’t like this before.

He used to be a carefree youth, stylish yet not lewd. Despite the teasing and advances from the courtesans, he would smile and avoid those voluptuous women, even adding, "In this cold weather, you ladies should dress warmly!"

But he had also been impulsive. Once, in a pitch-black cave, that handsome face was flushed with desire, with a thin sheen of sweat on his forehead, staring at her openly yet restrained. Seeing her frightened and terrified, he could only hold back his desires and comfort her, saying, “Don’t be afraid, I won’t touch you.”

“Really?” She didn’t dare to move.

Seeing her so scared, he couldn’t help but tease her, “Maybe not.”

Her tearful eyes were heart-wrenching. He helplessly added, “If I want to do anything, it would have to wait until after we’re married and in the bridal chamber. In this shabby place, you think I’d want to?”

The tearful person’s face broke into a smile.

So, hearing the command to “strip,” Pei Qing knew he was no longer the person he used to be.

Xiao Yuan ignored her tears and instead enjoyed her fear and helplessness.

“Undress yourself. I’m the only one who will see. If I help you, the group of blood-stained brothers outside will get an eyeful. After all, you invited them, so isn’t it fair to give them a little treat?”

He spoke such outrageously humiliating words with a nonchalant smile.

It seemed tonight was inescapable.

Tears kept falling, dripping onto the bedding. Pei Qing closed her eyes and, with trembling hands, began to loosen the sash around her waist.

Her outer robe fell away, and the fragrance in the room became even stronger. Xiao Yuan stood at the edge of the bed, staring at her intently.

Just watching her movements had already provoked a reaction from him.

Pei Qing kept her head bowed until her fair shoulders were exposed. She was left in a thin, translucent undergarment that clung to her slender, shapely figure, outlining her delicate yet graceful form.

Such a sheer garment hardly covered anything, but its softness and the fact that it was worn underneath made it somewhat endearing to her.

Now, it seemed she had underestimated the situation.

Suddenly, hearing the man’s breathing grow heavier, she trembled and lifted her head. Before she could speak, she saw his unabashed reaction.

Pei Qing was momentarily at a loss and dared not look at him again.

“Why are you acting like it’s the first time you’ve seen this?” Xiao Yuan’s tone was frivolous. “Continue.”

Whether it was fear or embarrassment, Pei Qing was unwilling to proceed. Tears streamed down her face like rain, her eyelashes wet and glistening. Kneeling on the bed, her face pale, her voice choked with emotion: “Please… Xiao Yuan, please.”

He remained silent, observing her sorrow and shame.

“Boring.” Xiao Yuan’s voice was cold. “Get down.”

Pei Qing, as if granted amnesty, tried to put her clothes back on, but as soon as her hand touched the fabric, she felt his gaze turn sharply. Her hand trembled, pulling away from the garment.

Even though she hadn’t fully undressed, wearing such a sheer undergarment made her every movement visible to him, as if she were naked. She got off the bed and stood before him, somewhat shrinking back.

Xiao Yuan did not look at her but casually sat on the edge of the bed, his legs pressing down on the clothes she had just removed.

“Play the qin.”

Play the qin? Pei Qing was secretly startled and looked around, searching to see if there was indeed a qin in the chamber.

Seeing that she did not move for a while, Xiao Yuan sneered, “What, is it better to stay on the bed?”

Pei Qing hurried to the side. The chamber was rather large, and as she worried that the man by the bed might suddenly change his mind, she searched for the qin. She hoped to find it quickly; playing the qin was far easier than facing him.

What she did not realize was that a gaze was continuously following her, accompanying her slender, lightly fragrant figure from the east side to the west, from inside the chamber to outside.

Outside, Chu Li noticed someone moving around inside the room as if searching for something. He called out, “Your Highness, is there something you’re looking for? I can bring it in!”

Xiao Yuan’s eyes narrowed at the tall shadow at the door, and he snapped, “Get out!”

“Oh.” Chu Li scratched his nose and retreated. Immediately, a group of soldiers around him began speculating about whether the prince had been scolded by the empress. Otherwise, why would he be so angry with them? After all, the situation was better at the Southern River, where no one bothered them, and the prince could enjoy his days in peace.

Chu Li, accustomed to being scolded in the military camp, was used to his lord’s capricious moods.

However, that shout of “Get out” made Pei Qing’s legs weaken. Seeing him look over, she hurriedly whispered, “I found it, the qin is found.”

Xiao Yuan, though impatient, did not shout. “Then why are you still standing there? Do you want me to bring the qin over for you?”
