Rebirth of the Charming Girl in Space

 Chapter 215:

Stealing a Bite?

"Throw me out?" Murong Lingran raised an eyebrow, "Fine, go ahead. I'll be waiting here for you."

Seeing the food still on the table, Mrs. Du thought Murong Lingran snuck in to steal leftovers. She looked malicious, "Humph, just a little maid. I'll personally drag you to the manager to deal with you."

Saying this, Mrs. Du walked around the round table and came to Murong Lingran, her rough and greasy hands quickly reaching for Murong Lingran's ear.

All because of this brat. If it weren't for her, Mrs. Du could have been doing clean work at the embroidery workshop. Instead, she had to come to the restaurant every day to clean, a dirty and messy job!

Today, she had a chance for revenge. Mrs. Du was determined to make this girl pay for her past and present grievances. She wanted to show her how it felt to suffer.

Murong Lingran coldly stared at Mrs. Du as she approached. When Mrs. Du was about a meter away from her, ready to kick her, a deep voice suddenly came from the door, "Stop!"

Mrs. Du was startled and turned to the door. Two young men in luxurious clothing were frowning at them. She quickly withdrew her hand.

Murong Lingran turned to look and instantly broke into a big smile.

Seeing her still able to smile, Heliang Rongjiu frowned and glared at her before coldly asking Mrs. Du, "What were you trying to do just now?"

Mrs. Du looked at their demeanor and attire, realizing they were not people she could provoke. Although a bit guilty, she thought that this time she wasn't in the wrong and plucked up her courage.

"Two gentlemen, your business is important. Don't waste time here. This girl secretly came in to eat the leftovers of the customers. I just found out and was about to drag her to the manager for punishment."

Heliang Rongjiu frowned at her address, then glanced at the leftovers on the table, and finally looked at Murong Lingran. He asked, "Did you come in here to steal food?"

Murong Lingran spread her hands helplessly, "How is that possible? Would I degrade myself to the point of stealing food? I'm not that kind of person."

Seeing her attire, Heliang Rongjiu's expression softened unexpectedly. He didn't expect her to look quite good in the clothes he spent a day selecting.

At this moment, hurried footsteps suddenly came from behind them.

Huang, the innkeeper, had an anxious expression. As soon as he stabilized, he looked at Murong Lingran and then the two young men beside her, worriedly saying, "Gentlemen, this child is still young. If she offended you in any way, please forgive her."

Murong Lingran helplessly said, "Innkeeper Huang, I didn't offend them. It was someone from your restaurant trying to attack me. These two gentlemen stopped it."

Only then did Innkeeper Huang notice that Mrs. Du was also inside. He sternly scolded her, "Mrs. Du, why aren't you cleaning the floors? What are you doing here?"

Mrs. Du's body began to sweat profusely as Innkeeper Huang defended Murong Lingran. Still, she couldn't believe it and questioned, "Innkeeper Huang, you know her? Did you let her eat in this room?"

"If I didn't know her, could she stay here alone?" Innkeeper Huang retorted. "Is it still necessary to say that I let her eat in this room?"

"Then... did you let her eat the food here?"

"Isn't that just nonsense?" Innkeeper Huang replied. He remembered what Murong Lingran said earlier and was shocked. "Did you have a conflict with this child? And did you want to hurt her?"

Murong Lingran interrupted, "Yes, she came in and wanted to attack me. Fortunately, these two gentlemen stopped her."

Hearing this, Mrs. Du suddenly knelt to the ground, her face full of sorrow. "Innkeeper Huang, I was wrong. I thought this child snuck in to eat the leftovers. I just wanted to drive her away. I didn't mean it. I'm doing it all for the good of the restaurant."
