Rebirth of the Charming Girl in Space
Chapter 197:
It's Not a Dog
After tossing most of the herbs into the space, Murong Lingran was about to descend the mountain when distant cries caught her attention.
"Wu wu wu... Wu wu wu... Wu wu wu..."
Murong Lingran was startled, her hair standing on end. In this secluded forest, how could there be a child's crying?
"Wu wu wu... Wu wu wu... Wu wu wu..."
Summoning courage, she cautiously moved toward the source of the sound. As the cries grew louder, she soon discovered a large pit, seemingly left by a hunter.
Peering carefully into the pit, Murong Lingran saw a seven or eight-year-old boy sitting disheveled, crying.

Beside him lay a beast resembling a dog, eyes closed, and its fate unknown.
"Wu wu wu... Wu."
The child suddenly looked up, noticing someone's presence. His crying ceased abruptly as he wiped away tears and snot, sniffling, "Big sister, please help me up. It's too high, and I can't climb out."
Relieved that it was a child, Murong Lingran breathed a sigh of relief. Her previous encounters with killers in the forest had left her somewhat traumatized. Curiously, she asked, "Little one, how did you fall down there?"
Glancing at the large black dog beside him, the child's face filled with fear, "It chased me here, and I accidentally fell."
At that moment, the big black dog seemed to awaken from its slumber, lazily stretching and rising to its feet.
Glancing at the child, it suddenly sensed a stranger's presence. Lifting its head to look at the human figure above, its eyes gleamed.
Seeing the dog awake, the child hastily shrank into a corner.
Predictably, the child burst into tears again, "Wu wu wu... Big sister, save me, save me."
Murong Lingran, feeling a headache coming on, rubbed her temples. It's just a dog; if it wanted to eat you, it would have done so long ago. Why cry for so long?
Reaching behind her, she took out a rope from the space and tossed it down, saying, "Wrap the rope around yourself, and I'll pull you up."
The child was about to reach out when the big black dog, seizing the opportunity, abruptly stood up, revealing sharp fangs and biting onto the rope.
Murong Lingran, bewildered, couldn't help but furrow her brow, "Are you expecting me to pull you up too?"
The big black dog tugged the rope, signaling her to hurry.
If it could climb up on its own, why would it stay with this little brat for so long? It probably fell asleep waiting.
Murong Lingran suddenly squatted down, inexplicably starting to negotiate with the dog, "Let's make a deal. I can pull you up, but you can't attack us."
Saying this, she took out a knife, glaring at the dog threateningly, "See this knife? If you dare to bite us, I'll be having dog meat for dinner tonight."
Impatiently, the big black dog nodded. These foolish humans, always mistaking it for a dog. It wasn't a dog, really.
Murong Lingran, seeing its nod, raised an eyebrow. Surprisingly, it understood human language. Watching its temper, she began pulling it up.
The big black dog, large and heavy, knew how to use its claws to grip the soil and climb. However, Murong Lingran, being just a ten-year-old child, didn't have much strength.
Struggling, she finally pulled it up, feeling her hands nearly breaking, palms burning with pain.
