Chapter 136:
Evidence
Uncle He looked at his stepson with mixed emotions. He had always known he failed to raise him properly, aware of his unruly behavior. Especially during his illness, the heartless abandonment by his stepson had shattered his heart.
He had never expected his stepson to stoop so low, making baseless accusations and dragging him into it. Didn't he realize the consequences if the false accusations succeeded? The whole family would bear the weight of those repercussions.

"Miss..." Constable Shen hesitated.
"Ask whatever you need to ask. My family has nothing to hide," Mourong Lingran replied.
Uncle He sighed, "I'll tell the truth too. Sir, if you have any questions, feel free to ask."
Constable Shen nodded and adopted a serious expression, approaching Uncle He to ask, "Sir, is what your son said true?"
Uncle He sighed again, shaking his head, "No, it's all lies."
He Tangli exclaimed in shock, "Father, how can you speak for them? Those drawings are obviously mine, and you can testify!"
Mourong Zhe expressed his concern, "Uncle He..."
Uncle He gave him a reassuring look. He would speak the truth and not favor his son, only what's right. "Sir, this lady gave me those drawings. Everything my stepson said is false."
Constable Shen breathed a sigh of relief, turning his stern gaze to He Tangli. "Your father says you're framing this lady. What do you say?"
He Tangli fervently defended himself, "Sir, my father must have been drugged by them. Otherwise, how could he possibly stand on their side? He's my father! Even though he's my stepfather, he raised me and my sister despite my mother leaving him. How could he not side with me?"
Uncle He, angered and disappointed, spoke, "I am clear-headed. You're the one spouting nonsense!"
Constable Shen, now relieved, glared at He Tangli. "Your father says you're falsely accusing this lady. What do you say?"
He Tangli, in a panic, stammered, "Sir, they must have drugged my father. Otherwise, how could he stand on their side? He's my father!"
Constable Shen hesitated before turning to Mourong Lingran, "Miss, do you have any other evidence?"
Mourong Lingran calmly replied, "Certainly."
She reached into her bag, actually pulling out a pile of manuscripts from her spatial storage.
"What's this?" Constable Shen asked, perplexed.
"Additional evidence," Mourong Lingran explained, placing the manuscripts on a table. "These are drafts related to the furniture designs. You can compare them with the so-called stolen drawings. It will become clear who the rightful owner is."
Constable Shen, intrigued, examined the manuscripts closely. The pieces of evidence were stacking up against He Tangli's false accusations.
